Mobile access at scale (future vision)

Future vision. This page describes how Voterexy could support future national elections in Papua New Guinea. Voterexy is an independent voting platform for organizations such as NGOs, churches and community groups. We are actively seeking approval from the Electoral Commission of Papua New Guinea and the Papua New Guinea Government; however, Voterexy is not currently affiliated with or endorsed by either, and is not used for official government elections.

Papua New Guinea presents a strong mobile opportunity: roughly 5 million mobile devices in a population of 10.5 million (≈48% penetration). Voterexy leverages web and mobile access to make voting convenient, secure and widely reachable while preserving inclusion for remote voters.

Why mobile matters

High mobile saturation makes Voterexy practical: voters can securely authenticate on their personal devices (or at portable booths), complete their ballot and receive an immutable proof of their submission. This reduces barriers (travel, lines) and increases turnout.

How Voterexy uses mobile devices

  • Secure sign‑in (2FA, optional biometrics) on Android/iOS or via the web.
  • Device‑bound attestations to prevent duplicate voting (one authenticated vote per election).
  • Support for multiple voting methods (LPV, FPP) in a single platform.
  • Portable polling stations (tablets) for remote communities without personal devices.

Inclusion for remote voters

Not everyone will have a personal device. Voterexy supports portable, supervised voting stations that run the same secure client. These stations allow remote voters to vote digitally (no paper ballots required) while maintaining authentication and auditability.

Voter history & permanence

Voterexy maintains a historical record (voter's virtual ballot history) so voters can review past submissions. This transparency instills confidence by letting voters verify their participation indefinitely.

Calculations (5M devices, 10.5M population) are based on current 2026 provided figures.
